The Sanibel Public Library Foundation, Inc., is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization supporting the Sanibel Public Library and reading and literacy in Southwest Florida. For more than a decade, the Foundation has provided more than $1 million in grants and gifts to the Sanibel Public Library. Sponsored programs include the Youth Summer Reading Program – Reading for Others! which helps children maintain their skills during school break and encourages a love of reading for pleasure. Sanibel Public Library cards are available to all residents of Sanibel and Lee County, Florida, at no charge. You must present your valid driver’s license (or similar government ID) to staff, showing your current Lee County address. Visitor cards are available for a $10 fee and are good for one year.

You can also fill out the form in person at the Library’s Service Desks. Tell staff about your reading history and preferences and they will select a few books for your own personalized recommended reading list.
