Crews are building the elevator, and pouring concrete at the new entrance. The Sanibel Fire Department and LCEC are working on site, inspecting the electrical and fire suppression systems.
The first phase of Sanibel Public Library’s “Your Library Reimagined” project is almost complete.
The Library will be closed from Saturday, January 20 through the remainder of the month, due to electrical and utility work, and to relocate library materials. There will not be overdue fines assessed for materials returned late during this time. The book drop is located in the front of the building to allow patrons to return DVDs, magazines, books, and any other library material. Please do not place holds on items until library reopens. The Library’s eShelf will also be available during the time the Library is closed.
Weekly youth programs are not scheduled for the remainder of January, due to the renovation.
An update to the project was in The Islander newspaper in December.
