Staff Prepares for Reimagined.

Sanibel Public Library has embarked on the first phase of the “Your Library Reimagined” project.During the week of May 29 through June 2 the building will be closed to the public while the interior of the building is being prepared for the project.
The facility is being reconfigured in order to continue providing library services during remodeling. During the summer, half of the building will be closed to the public while the infrastructure is updated. The Library will provide service through most of the renovation period, but will occasionally have to close for a day or two when there is utility or plumbing work.Overdue fines and “hold deadlines” will be adjusted accordingly, during occasional unexpected closures.

Updates to the project will be announced in email blasts, here on the News Blog, in local newspapers, and through Facebook and Twitter.

Books, DVDs, and other Library materials are being cataloged, boxed, and relocated within the Library this week. The Teen Space will serve as a provisional Tech Area, while Meeting Room 4 will house the biography and nonfiction collections.
